As we creep closer to our cold months, Florida seems light-years away...for me, it's just a quick message away to my friend and fellow baker Compassion Confection Co. LLC.
She recently shared a post of another Florida vegan baker Mawmaw's Vegan Bakery who is currently feeling the down side of the social media algorithm after some time away to deal with a cancer diagnosis.
We all know first hand how hard it is to find vegan treats and we know the algorithm isn't nice. As someone who often disappears online for periods of time to deal with my chronic illnesses, I know firsthand how sh*tty the algorithm is if you aren't consistently posting.
So as a community, let's rally to boost Mawmaw's engagement by giving her a follow and keep another vegan business going ❤️
💛 A little note from Mawmaw 💛
Baking has always been my love language — for my family, for my friends, and for all of you who’ve followed along on this Mawmaw’s Vegan Bakery journey. Many of you walked beside me through my cancer battle last year, and you supported me when I realized I couldn’t return to the market. I’ll never forget that kindness.
Now that life has settled into a quieter routine, my page interactions have slowed to a point where I’m honestly questioning the sustainability of keeping my cottage bakery going. With rising costs, baking batches that don’t sell just isn’t smart or sustainable.
I’m not posting this to pressure anyone to order — goodness knows none of us buy treats every week. My faithful customers have been so faithful, and I appreciate you more than you know.
What I am asking is simple: if you enjoy my page, my baking, or the little community we’ve built, a quick positive comment, a like, or a share every now and then would help tremendously. Engagement is everything for small pages like mine, and your support — even in tiny ways — truly makes a difference.
Thank you for being part of my story, my healing, and my kitchen. ❤️
