Due to the students leaving, the extreme heat, and needing a bit of a break myself, the free bakery and free pantry will be taking a month off.

I had been really worried about food safety anyway during the heat, and use of the pantry has dropped dramatically. If you are in need of assistance, you can always message me and we can arrange something privately, but for now the free pantry will be closed till September!

See you all in September, and enjoy the last of summer!

Lots of people are asking how to donate to the free bakery, and what we need so I thought I would make an updated post.

We accept donations of unopened products as long as they aren’t expired! We are always in need of
-Flour (all purpose/bread flour/cake flour)
-sugar
-butter
-baking soda
-baking powder
-cocoa powder
-baking chocolate bars
-chocolate chips
And pretty much anything else you could imagine for baking!

We also taking donations through Venmo if you’re interested in making a financial contribution

That was crazy. I continue to underestimate how much I can bake, and how many people will come.

Just for reference today I spent 50 dollars on ingredients, baked for 5 hours, and it all lasted less than 5 minutes. I didn’t even get a chance to post about it.

I LOVE doing this, it’s my favorite part of the week. But sometimes it is very overwhelming. Please be patient with me, and understand that if you don’t get food it was because 30+ people were there waiting before I even put stuff out. I’ve gotten a lot of texts today that are borderline disrespectful, and if that continues I will no longer continue the free bakery.

SANDWICH DAY!

I will be making focaccia bread from scratch and crafting a couple wonderful sandwiches as well as making ice cream cookie sandwiches for everyone!

3pm (ish) today! See you soon!

Does anyone have any vegetable/fruit starts or seeds they would be willing to donate to the free pantry? I am trying to start growing some produce to put in the pantry throughout the summer but I only have a few things to plant!
