Happy Cookie Fest 2022! 🍪🎉 This year I made 15 types of cookies (18 if you count the 4 types of oatmeal raisin I made) and delivered boxes to countless friends, neighbors, the mailman (and soon family) 🥰
Making Christmas cookies is my favorite part of the holiday season. Even though I didn’t grow up officially celebrating Christmas at home, my family had a couple Christmas traditions with our Christmas celebrating friends, one of which being Christmas cookie baking at Mary Johnson’s house 🎄
If you know me, you know I love sharing food and I love desserts. So this brings me so much joy and I hope it brings everyone else joy as well. Here is the list of cookies I made this year. Let me know if you would like any recipes!
- Sourdough Brown Butter Espresso Chocolate Chunk
- Sourdough Brown Butter Snickerdoodles
- Sourdough Ginger Molasses
- Double Dark Chocolate Chip
- Walnut Chocolate Chip (Levain copycat)
- Sourdough Chocolate Chip with Oats
- Oatmeal Raisin (4 types: sourdough, classic, gluten free, and vegan gluten free)
- Sourdough Cut-Out Sugar Cookies
- Gingerbread teddy bears (since I don’t have a gingerbread man cutout!)
- Classic Shortbread
- Khorasan Wheat Shortbread
- Paleo Double Chocolate Brownie Cookies
- Paleo Pumpkin Chocolate Chip
- Paleo Snickerdoodles
- Paleo Ginger Molasses with currants & pecans
Note: You may be wondering why so many of them are sourdough. Well, it’s because I wanted to make them slightly healthier, by fermenting the flour. The sourdough fermentation process pre-digests some of the gluten, making it easier for your body to digest. It does not make the cookies taste sour. So you ask, does it really make a big difference for cookies (versus bread)? To be honest, I don’t know, but it makes me feel better eating them, so I’ll leave it at that 😉
