I’ve got my second wind and I’m back in the kitchen.

Did you I usually bake at night? Why? Well, it helps the house not be so hot, and our power is a bit cheaper overnight, but mainly I’ve always been a bit of a night owl.

Curious… would people be into oatmeal cream pie cups? Or oatmeal cookie granola?

I’m trying to think of creative ways to not waste 8 doz cookies 🫠 (would have been 4 doz cream pies 😭).

The cart is out, I’m slowly making one last batch of Fat Cat Cookies to put out as well. I’ll post a video with everything available once I get those out! I just needed a minute to celebrate my win and tell you guys, since I feel like we’ve been on this journey together now 🤭💜

I had a so many entries for our spread the kindness post. It took me a bit to sort through entries in the post and messages!

Some of the stories shared were so heartwarming. I love hearing what an incredible community we have and the people who make a difference in both big and small ways.

I hadn’t had the cart out for a couple weeks. I didn’t post the winners since they wouldn’t be able to snag their prize until I was back in the swing of baking. Between breaking my thumb in the car door and the heat making it a bit tough on my poor mini fridge (forget the cart when it’s over 105- it’s just too hot 😅).

Anyways, at this point y’all know Im chatty, I’ll get to the good stuff- the winners!!

Congrats to Bekka Crosby who was nominated multiple times for both her and her husbands kindness when it comes to showing up for their neighbors and friends in the community (a few extra thankful people for not letting them succumb to the heat when their AC went out on short notice 😂 I giggle because I understand the love one has for their AC repairman in AZ) 💜

Congrats to Ashley Atkinson who was nominated for her hard work and willingness to help run the school PTO this year, her dedication to the school and kids in the community mean so much. Anyone who has volunteered their time to a school cause knows how much work and time goes into it. Truly a labor of love 💜

Congrats to Shelby Flaucher who was nominated for her love and compassion for the kids in our community as well as the families. Between being a beloved teacher and Coach, I had multiple members tell stories of how kind and welcoming Shelby always is. 💜

My baking endeavor didn’t work out the other day and I’m so bummed!

A quadruple batch of oatmeal cream pie cookies didn’t turn out 😭

However, on the bright side my cosmic brownies did turn out delightful. I will be trying a small batch of oatmeal cream pies again today. Last time it was my filling, this time the cookies. Idk why I’m struggling with them.

I like sharing my failures because I hear people tell me often that they can’t bake. Baking is science! It could have been the humid weather that affected my recipe, the tiniest mismeasurement or improper taring on my scale.

Regardless, it happens to every good baker, and I like to encourage others to always keep trying, even when it’s frustrating.

Anyways!

You guys… I’m cackling right now.

Rob prepared a chicken before leaving for work this morning. As I’m prepping to bake mass quantities of cosmic brownies, oatmeal cream pies and honey buns- I look over and see this guy parked.

Staring. For a second I wondered what on earth he was doing, and then I realized he’s staring at the chicken like a millennial mom at a Backstreet Boys concert.

At least I know where to find him for the next few hours 😂

The mini fridge is still out, I did have to pull the cart in. Everything is still available in the mini fridge. Just no cash until the weather calms down!

Have you ever craved chocolate cake and then proceeded to spend the next 24hrs patiently making the best chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and topped with ganache? Just me??? Don’t worry, for those who don’t get hyperfixated on baked goods, I share 🤣
