I want to thank my customers, family, friends, and employees past and present for helping make this 30-year journey with The Bagel Shoppe possible. This decision did not come lightly, and it was incredibly difficult to make, but I want you all to know how deeply I appreciate your love, support, and everything you’ve done for me along the way.
After 30 years, The Bagel Shoppe has become such an important part of my life and saying goodbye to this chapter feels like saying goodbye to a part of myself. ❤️
I grew up in this town and was fortunate to already have relationships and connections here. But becoming a business owner allowed me to build so many more both personally and professionally. Through The Bagel Shoppe, I met countless people, formed lasting friendships, and became even more connected to the Red Hook community and its local businesses.
For the first 20 years, we called our original location home. Then, after a fire in a neighboring business forced us to relocate, I had to start over and open the doors to a new Bagel Shoppe. During that difficult time, my mom was battling cancer, and I lost her the day before I opened our new location. Somehow, I opened the doors the next day and kept going.
Now, 10 years later, I’ve made the very emotional decision to sell The Bagel Shoppe. I’m happy to share that it has been sold to a wonderful local Red Hook family who understands how special this place is. They will take over beginning the first week of October and continue the family-friendly atmosphere that has always been at the heart of The Bagel Shoppe.
To my employees, past and present, and to my customers: thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your loyalty, friendship, support, and for allowing me to be part of your lives. You have made this so much more than a business.
I’m proud of what I built and grateful for the memories, friendships, and experiences that have filled the past 30 years. I’m especially thankful for the many relationships I already had growing up in this town, as well as all the new connections I gained through owning The Bagel Shoppe.
