A little glimpse into the not-so-glamorous side of farmstand life... paperwork! 📋
Truthfully, most of farmstand life isn’t glamorous. It’s early mornings, late nights, endless baking, mountains of dirty dishes, and about 10 times more paperwork than most people would ever imagine.
It’s not simply bake goodies, put them on a shelf, and make money. There are sales taxes to file, insurance premiums to pay, credit card processing fees, advertising costs, vendor event fees, utility bills, equipment expenses, bookkeeping, inventory tracking, and so much more behind the scenes.
Owning a small business is incredibly rewarding, but there are a lot of moving pieces that happen long before a fresh loaf of sourdough or a cinnamon roll makes its way to the stand.
Today is a paperwork day, and while it’s not nearly as exciting as baking, it’s just as important to keeping the doors open.
