Tiers vs Layers

Whether you are looking for a center piece or a statement piece for your celebration, the type of cake you order can make that happen.

Layers

A single cake is made with multiple layers of cake stacked on top of each other with a filling between each layer.

When ordering with Novalee Cakes, you will notice that most cakes come with four layers.

Tiers

Most birthday cakes will be a single tier cake (or layered cake), while the classic wedding cake style is to have multiple tiers stacked on top of each other. Each tier is essentially its own cake, but will flow together perfectly once stacked on top of each other.

The more tiers the taller the cake.
