Hey everyone, we wanted to introduce ourselves!
We’re the new owners of Layer Croissanterie, and we know this place meant a lot to so many of you. We were big fans ourselves, so it’s bittersweet to see it go. We’re incredibly grateful for everything Layer Croissanterie brought to this community, and we’ll do our best to continue its legacy in our own way.
We’re the Matar family - baking has always been a huge part of our lives. My wife and I bake together, and our two little boys, George and Theodore, are growing up surrounded by the smell of fresh pastries. George actually turns two today! When we opened our first bakery in Wake Forest, he was just six months old.
We moved to the U.S. two years ago, and we’ve fallen in love with this country and the people here. We love what we do, and we’re excited (and a little nervous!) to share it with you.
We hope you’ll give us a chance - try our pastries, get to know us, and see what we’re all about. We’ll be sharing updates as we get ready to open, so follow us at Paul & Jack NC to stay in the loop.
