Hi, I’m Allison 👋. I’m the hands, heart, and flour-dusted apron behind Blooms Bakery. My love for baking started early, standing on a chair in the kitchen with my mom, helping mix dough and sneaking little bites when I thought she wasn’t looking. My grandpa was an overnight bread baker years ago, so I guess you could say this passion runs in the family.
I’ve been baking sourdough for 2 years, but I’ve been baking in some form for as long as I can remember. Sourdough is special to me because it forces you to slow down. It’s patient, it’s simple, and it turns the most basic ingredients into something that feels like home.
If I’m being honest, I’m realizing I need to take more photos of myself in the kitchen. My camera roll is mostly crumb shots, bubbly dough close-ups, and goofy pictures of my husband and me 😅. But I want you to see the face and life behind the bread too.
Every loaf I make starts with high-quality flour, filtered water, natural wild yeast, and time. Lots of time. No shortcuts, no preservatives, just bread made the way it’s been made for generations.
When you choose Blooms Bakery, you’re not just getting bread. You’re supporting a small local business, honoring a tradition, and hopefully bringing something warm and comforting to your table.
Pre-orders for my weekly sourdough bakes will reopen later this year. I would love for you to be part of the first group of customers. Follow along for behind-the-scenes peeks, baking tips, and of course… plenty of bread pics 🍞✨
