Fresh baked bread is the best bread!!

This is such an easy recipe, it makes two and you can slice and freeze the second loaf!

White Sandwich Bread

Ingredients
1¼ cups warm water
¼ cup honey
1 Tbsp active dry yeast
¼ cup butter, melted
1 egg
2 tsp salt
5–5½ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine warm water and honey. Stir until dissolved. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 10–15 minutes until foamy.

Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix until combined.

Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. The dough should be slightly tacky but not overly sticky.

Knead for 7 minutes.

Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning once to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it in half.

Shape each half into a loaf and place seam-side down in two greased 9x5-inch loaf pans.

Cover and let rise for 30–40 minutes, until doubled. Preheat oven to 350°F.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and the loaves sound hollow when tapped.

Remove from pans, brush tops with butter if desired, and cool completely before slicing.

I’m a donut lover… and I’m a little picky!

We moved a few years ago from a place with great donuts to somewhere with mediocre donuts at best… do I still eat them… Yes, of course I do. I get desperate once in a while lol!

But I’ve never actually tried making them until the other day… and even with having to use a little bit of oat flour because I ran out of regular flower, they were absolutely delicious and far superior to anything. I’ve tried out here!

So I’m excited to try them again without running out of flour lol!

And the best part is, I control the ingredients and what goes in them and what oil I use to cook them in!

Aren’t they so good looking?

Homemade animal cracker!!

Ingredients:

6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
¼ cup pure maple syrup or honey (I used a mixture of both)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
1 ½ cups all purpose flour

Directions:

Soften your butter first (it should be soft enough to press your finger into easily). Mix it with the maple syrup until smooth and creamy. Add in the cinnamon, vanilla, and salt and mix again until combined.

Slowly mix in the flour until it turns into a soft dough. It might look crumbly at first, but it’ll come together—just keep mixing and scrape the sides if needed. If it’s too dry, add a tiny bit of cold water.

Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it up, and chill it in the fridge for at least an hour (or pop it in the freezer for about 15 minutes if you’re short on time).

Once chilled, let it sit out for a few minutes to soften slightly while you preheat the oven to 350°F.

Lightly flour your surface, roll the dough out thin (about 1/8–1/4 inch), and cut into small shapes. Place them on a lined baking sheet, then gather scraps and repeat until you’ve used all the dough.

Bake for 7–10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden—keep an eye on them so they don’t burn. You'll need to cook longer if your dough is thicker. Let them cool completely so they crisp up.

We tried homemade cereal… I didn’t roll it out flat enough so it didn’t get SUPER crunchy but when you catch your husband that doesn’t even like sweets getting a handful more than once you know it’s a win! Lol!

It turned into more of a snack but super good!

If you can roll it thin enough and cut them small enough they’d make a great cinnamon sugar cereal also!

Homemade Cinnamon Cereal

Ingredients
Cereal
1 ¼ cups flour
4 tbsp cold butter
¼ tsp salt
⅛ tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp cold water

Cinnamon Sugar
2 tbsp melted butter (cooled)
3 tbsp sugar
1 ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Add flour, butter, salt, and cinnamon to a food processor. Pulse until crumbly.
Add maple syrup and water, then pulse until it forms a dough (it’ll look dry at first but will come together—add a little extra water only if needed).

Split dough in half. Roll one half between two sheets of parchment paper as thin as possible (this is key for crunchy cereal).

Lightly brush melted butter on top, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar and gently press it in.
Flip the dough, repeat butter + cinnamon sugar on the other side.

Cut into small squares (about ¼–½ inch). Place on a baking sheet (no need to separate).

Repeat with remaining dough.
Bake 10 minutes, until edges are golden.

Let cool— they’ll crisp up as they sit.
