I just want to say thank you to the customers that see me.
Being a mother itself is a position in which we give a lot and it’s often overlooked, and I’m used to that, it’s okay. I was a 911 dispatcher for 16 years, I’m used to high stress thankless jobs.
Doing this fun bakery thing now is such a change. I love my dough work. Feeding people has always been something I enjoy. If you’re ever hungry and in my house let me know, I will ALWAYS share food. But seriously, the friends and customers that see past the smile and the food to know what must be going on inside is so appreciated.
It reminds me of when I had a baby (Meeps) and then 2 weeks later I had a stroke. My MOPs friends heard about that and immediately started dropping food off on my porch. They didn’t ask what they could do, they didn’t say “let me know what you need” they just showed up, deposited their offering and didn’t stick around to see how it was received. It was a gift freely given out of their current capacity at the time. And MOPs is “mothers of preschoolers” so they probably didn’t have a lot of bandwidth to be sharing to be quite real.
But they did it anyway.
So at Christmas when some of you brought little gifts and today and at other times I truly want to thank you because I feel seen.
Today, thank you to Karina who didn’t have an order to pick up but did have one to drop off because she gets it. These struggle seasons are just that and sometimes a little token of visibility is a lifeline to a friend.
We will praise Him in this storm. ✝️
With gratitude,
Sari
