What's at the Bottom of that Backpack?!?

This is the time of year for cleaning classrooms and emptying desks. This means all sorts of junk ((ahem)) school supplies make their way back home, mere shadows of their former selves. Crayon nibs, broken pencils, marker caps, and chewed erasers all seem to miraculously avoid the classroom trash can and end up at the bottom of our kids' well worn backpacks. Before you pitch the whole thing in the trash (Don't laugh- I've been tempted!) check back here over the next week for ways to give those items a second life, and help beat summer boredom at the same time!

Here's today's Backpack Craft: MARKER CAP JUMP ROPE: Visit Mama's Little Muse for the 'how to'. I can't wait to do this with the pile of old markers my daughter brought home yesterday.

Coolest idea ever. SO love this! Reminds me of those old-school jump ropes we had in elementary school. (Am I dating myself?!) :-)
