Growing up, I didn't have the best luck on Halloween. One year, I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. Another year, I broke my arm. And other years, I was just under the weather. But no matter what, my mom made Halloween special for our family when she baked a big chocolate chip cookie cake decorated like a spider web. Learning how to make the spider web design remains one of my fondest baking memories.
