I will be the first to admit that I'm an yarn snob. Downy angoras, fine merinos, sturdy wool, cashmere, silk, organic cotton, so many wonderful fibers; in tones as natural or vibrant as can be dreamed! Knitting with them is like dancing with a pro, they glide across you needles as smoothly as Fred Astaire. One of the wonderful things about knitting is that it travels easily. No matter where you go

, your trusty needles and yarn can come too! (even airplanes...i know) Most of the time my studio is at home in Portland, ME; but I sail for a living. Sometimes my studio is a 88 foot Arctic schooner that was built in 1921, Sometimes it's our 35 foot sloop, and I create wherever I go; inspired by the views, sounds, and smells around me. Thats what GirlAtSeaKnits is all about. Letting the world inspire you.
