Ok, maybe we’re a little biased ☺️ but we LOVE teachers! Do you know a teacher who deserves a treat, this week or any time? We can help.

It’s Teacher Appreciation week! FTO parent volunteers have organized a week of thank-yous for DHS staff. You can help by sending your student with a dessert (homemade or store bought!) on Friday. Allergy safe foods ( gluten, nuts, dairy, sugar) are always a plus. Thank you!!!

We are proud to support Deering High School Science Olympiad!

Following their historic first-place victory at the Maine State Science Olympiad Tournament on April 11, the Deering High School Science Olympiad team is officially launching their Trajectory to Nationals campaign to reach the national finals at USC in California this May. This landmark achievement, a first for Deering and the Portland Public School District, saw the Deering Purple team secure seven individual Gold Medals in disciplines ranging from Chemistry Lab to Electric Vehicle, while the Deering White team also medaled in Material Science. To send these fifteen champion students to Los Angeles, the team must raise $20,000 for specialized science equipment, lodging, and transportation. In a powerful show of community support, the Foundation for Portland Public Schools is matching every donation dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000, meaning your contribution has double the impact.
