now playing at the fates L to R:
"ink" biodynamic red wine from Austria’s Burgenland region. a blend of Zweigelt and St. Laurent grapes, with bright red fruits and a fresh, peppery finish. low tannins, high enjoyment. beck's wines are masterful and thoughtful, and i really love this bottling.
la Vina de la Merce 100% Tempranillo from Rioja, Spain. La Vina de la Merce is named in honour of winemaker Pedro's mother, and is a gracious and lovely expression of this grape. the vines reside in a 35+ year-old Tempranillo vineyard with soil of stone and clay. this site is very windy, which gives the grapes some enjoyable, intense brightness. textured and bright, with spice and red fruits, best enjoyed with laughter and someone you love.
"EAZY" Refošk - think a lighter, crunchy syrah. this vibrant, organic red wine produced in Slovenia's coastal Istria region by the Zaro family, in collaboration with the importer Black Lamb, [one of my absolute favourites], and is crafted from coastal Istria's indigenous Refošk grape. intentionally designed as an approachable, lightly acidic and juicy red, with sour cherry, black pepper and sea breeze.
summertime, and the livin's eaZy.
Pinot Noir, from Silvershot Vineyards, Finnigan Hill, No Clos Radio, Marin Estate, all in Willamette Valley, 2024 harvest - what a beautiful sampling of WV vines aging from 17-50 years! this is a true capture of our beloved Oregon terroir. “light, transparent fruit framed by earth” could not say it better. just a fantastic pinot, and perfectly delicious capture of why we love this place.
