I should have written my farewell post sooner..but I've been processing the emotions of it all as I clear out my shop. Tomorrow will be my last day cleaning and clearing. The final writing is still on my chalk board doors. The outpouring of love and kindness we've received was overwhelming. Some of you have stopped in when I'm there cleaning, for hugs, love and to bid us well.

I want you to know that this has been an amazing journey these 2 years. I learned so much, and met so many wonderful people. I appreciate you all. You made this worth everything that's happened. Many of you came through and blessed my family unexpectedly when it was needed the most..I will never forget that. Thank you!! Thank you for everything. I met beautiful amazing souls these last 2 years..thank you for giving me the opportunity and chance to know you. For those that would like to stay in contact and follow us for what's next.. Life lessons I learned making Donuts..

With the dough...honor the requirements. The ideal temperature is 71°..too cold makes it tight and unfriendly, too warm..made it loose and angry. Fluid volume varies by outside temp and humidity..pay attention..let it rest before asking it to perform. It's happier when you care for it's needs.

The hopper..likes a fresh shower and wipe down before runnimg, like most of us..
A good wake up, so to speak. The more weight, the better performance in dropping and cutting the dough. It does well under pressure, while at the same time.. It doesn't like too many breaks in a run. And sometimes, you have to dump the whole batch of dough, clean it out..and start over. It happens. We all need a fresh start sometimes.

The fryer.....The line is a lie. A false limitation. Donuts like more swimming room to reach their full potential. Add more oil, increase the volume..and the donuts will love you. Slow down. Yes..it's possible to make 35 dozen an hour, but they're small and wonky. It isn't something I feel good about selling. Slow the speed down, respect the pace that makes the best donuts. Talk nicely to the fryer..it likes music..dance..it seems to respond to your stress level. Stay calm and be patient.

Finished donuts..like to cool down before going in the warmer. They're hot and confused lol...they need to settle down before making it to the dressing table.

People and my shop...they're more than customers. They're souls walking into my space. I'm serving more than donuts. Each soul that walked through my doors deserve to be seen and cared for..sometimes they need more than just donuts. They need conversation, encouragement, love, connection, a hug..to know they matter..try to keep the energy welcoming and peaceful, inviting..homey. Comfortable, it's good for them and me.

I over estimated how fast flour would run out...so I'll be open through Sunday, with enough flour for larger orders if ordered ahead.

Thank you so much for the out pouring of support this week, I have loved seeing so many of you coming in. I appreciate you all. I hope to see you all over the next few days. ☺️

I've been closed a few days, and will be closed tomorrow..this is my first functional day. I apologize if any orders went through before we were able to shut off online ordering. I'll take care of it as soon as I'm back in.

In anticipation of the weather, which may or may not have been a false alarm, I did close today. My car is a zero on ice..which may or may not happen it looks like. I'm planning on tomorrow.
