🎂✨ This cake was made for the daughter of one of my longtime customers ! The birthday girl absolutely LOVES my Red Velvet Cake recipe, so I had to make it extra special.

This beauty is a two-tier cake, each tier boasting 3 layers of moist, delicious Red Velvet cake, all iced in luscious cream cheese-flavored buttercream. 😋 It was accompanied by a dozen cupcakes—Red Velvet and Carrot Cake for a little variety! 🧁🥕🌟

The flowers? 🌸 Hand-piped to complement this elegant dessert perfectly. 💐

Rise and shine, everyone! 🌞 I had the absolute joy of creating something special for a friend and former co-worker, Heather Navarro, , on her wedding day. The ceremony took place at the break of dawn, and I was there bright and early at 5:30 a.m. to deliver sweet confections. ✨

I’m sharing photos showing the journey of crafting these sugar paste sunflowers. Made from fondant stiffened with CMC powder and dusted with petal dust in various colors, these blooms have all the depth and dimension of real flowers. I made two sizes: the smaller ones for the cupcakes and the larger sunflowers for the top of the 7-inch double-layer cake.

Oh, and did I mention the flavor? Key Lime with buttercream icing – a delicious twist to match the beautiful sunrise wedding! 🌻🍰
