Tuesday’s Update ❤️

Today was my 3rd infusion. It took a little while to get started because my heart rate was 126 and my oxygen was below 88. This is also part of why I’ve been referred to a cardiologist, although today’s numbers were made worse by pain.

Last night, our almost 200-pound Great Dane, Samson, decided to run across my big toe. 🤦‍♂️ We’ll see how that goes… and I wish I could say this was the first time, but apparently I don’t learn. 😂

I still haven’t noticed any improvement from the infusions yet, but they said it can take up to 8 infusions, so there’s still hope. Thankfully, I’ve had positive reactions to the treatments so far.

We’re also having to wait on the CT for my coronary calcification because insurance is calling it preventative and won’t cover it. My doctor warned us this might happen, so now we wait for my cardiologist appointment and figure out the next step.

The bright spot today was getting both girls to their checkups. They’re both healthy, which is always a blessing! ❤️ Tomorrow they’ll have their standard bloodwork.

🌧️ The rain can’t ruin your day — only you can. ❤️

Saturday we drove down to visit the girls’ strawberry patch. The forecast said the rain would end, but it never did! 🌧️ Instead of letting the weather change our plans, we decided to make the most of it.

We nearly had the place to ourselves, and the small size was perfect for me with my fatigue. There were plenty of places to sit and rest, and it was such a blessing to have a little bit of normalcy return to our lives.

It was such a hands-on place, and the animals brought so much happiness to everyone. There were genuine smiles everywhere — the kind we really haven’t been seeing as much as we should lately. 🥰

Unfortunately, it wasn’t a particularly good day for my condition. My voice was especially weak and garbled, and I don’t talk much anymore in general. Talking has become something I have to be very careful with because even short conversations can cause a lot of fatigue in my mouth and throat, which can lead to breathing and swallowing problems. So you’ll notice I’m pretty quiet in the videos, but I still wanted to share these moments with you all. ❤️

We had great conversations on the way down, and on the way home I was able to sit back and listen to our youngest tell my mom all about her day on the phone. Hearing her recount it all with so much joy was the perfect way to end the day.

For a few hours, there were no doctors, appointments, paperwork, or worries. Just our family enjoying being together.

God knew we needed that little break from reality, and He gave it to us. We couldn’t be more grateful. 🙏❤️

💜 Life After Meeter’s… apparently has a few more chapters we never expected to write.

This almost doesn’t feel real anymore. We started Life After Meeter’s to share what life looks like after closing the deli — the struggles, the blessings, the unexpected moments, and most importantly, our faith through it all.

We just never imagined how many things we would end up walking through together.

This week, after Kerry’s follow-up mammogram, we were told that she needs to meet with a breast surgeon and have two biopsies done.

We don’t know what this means yet, and we’re trying very hard not to let our minds run ahead of the facts. Right now, all we know is that there are two areas that need to be checked, and we have to take the next step.

So today, we’re asking our Life After Meeter’s family for something much more important than anything we could ever sell at the deli…

We need your prayers. 🙏

Please pray for good results, peace while we wait, wisdom for her doctors, and strength for both of us as we face yet another unexpected chapter.

Through all of this, we’re still choosing to believe that even when we don’t understand the path, God is walking it with us.

Thank you for continuing to follow our journey, love us, encourage us, and pray for our family. We never imagined that closing the deli would lead us here, but we’re grateful we don’t have to walk this road alone. ❤️

Thankful for insurance and having reached our deductible is an understatement. I can not believe this is weekly 😱 no wonder they offered me snacks 😂

A Quick Health Update ❤️

We got the results from yesterday’s CT scan, and unfortunately, like so much of this journey, every answer seems to bring another question.

The CT was part of my Myasthenia Gravis evaluation, including looking at my thymus. There is some tissue in the thymus area, but no definite mass was identified. My neurologist will review those findings as we continue figuring out the best treatment plan.

The bigger unexpected finding was moderate calcium buildup in my coronary arteries, along with fluid around my heart, neither of which we were previously aware of. I now need to follow up with a cardiologist to determine what this means for my heart and what testing or treatment will be needed.

And unfortunately, when we got home from the appointment, we found a denial letter for my disability application waiting in the mail. So we're now having to figure out our next steps there as well.

It's been a lot of new information and new challenges at once, and we're still taking everything one day at a time. Our GoFundMe is still very much needed, and every donation, share, prayer, and kind message continues to make a real difference for us while we navigate all of this.

A quick health update for our Facebook family ❤️

We're continuing to post updates here because it's becoming difficult, both physically and mentally, to keep track of everyone we've updated individually. This way we can hopefully keep everyone on the same page.

Thanks to everyone's help, I was able to find an MRI appointment this Saturday that should work for what my doctors need, and I also have CT scans scheduled for the 24th! 🙏

Tomorrow (Tuesday), I begin my infusions. I'm really hopeful about this next step. My neurologist said that if I respond well, I could potentially see noticeable improvement fairly quickly. If that happens, the plan is to continue with weekly maintenance infusions along with therapeutic plasma exchange to help remove the harmful antibodies from my blood.

One of our biggest prayers right now is that no masses are found on any of my upcoming scans. We would truly appreciate everyone joining us in that prayer. 🙏

Beyond getting back into the school routine again, we've thankfully had no other big surprises to report. We're still waiting and wading through the disability process with no real news yet—just continuing to complete the seemingly endless forms and interviews as they come.

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us, checked on us, offered kind words, and especially kept our family in your prayers. Your generosity and support have meant more than you know.

There's still a long road ahead and plenty of hurdles to cross, but we're moving forward, we're getting answers, and we're trusting the Lord through all of it. ❤️🙏

Many of you have been checking in on me, and I wanted to share another health update here since it's the easiest way for me to keep everyone informed without missing anyone.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any improvement since my diagnosis, and I've actually had some regression. At my neurology appointment today, my doctor determined that the medications we've been trying aren't working well enough, and the side effects have become too significant, so we've decided to discontinue them.

The next step is to begin transfusion treatments every two weeks. Each treatment will take about four hours, but we're hopeful they will start making a difference within the first few treatments. Right now we're waiting on insurance approval so we can get the first one scheduled.

I'm also in need of several MRIs under general anesthesia because of the difficulty I have lying flat and remaining still. Unfortunately, the facility we're scheduled with only offers these appointments once a month, and the first available isn't until May. If anyone knows of another local facility that performs MRIs under general anesthesia, we'd really appreciate any recommendations.

One piece of good news is that we've reached my health insurance out-of-pocket maximum for the year. That means we can move forward with these new treatments without the added financial burden of additional medical costs, and we can start focusing on catching up on our mortgage after falling behind because of my medical expenses.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. They truly mean more to our family than I can put into words. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we wait for insurance approval and hope this new treatment is the one that finally brings some improvement. We still believe God is guiding us through this, even on the difficult days, and we're holding on to that hope. ❤️

It's our 21st wedding anniversary! Always thankful
Since we were 16, Jeff and Kerry, 2 unbelievable children and 1 remarkable young man, and today marks 21 years of marriage. We've always stayed, we've always believed in each other even when we couldn't believe in ourselves. You have always been my north star, shining so bright in our darkest storms. And now we're facing our newest challenge but with you by my side I'll never stop fighting. God has always guided us and given us the strength and I have faith He will continue to provide for our love.
I can't promise you riches but I can pledge to continue to open every door, put you first, think of you always and use every ounce of my being to bring you happiness and joy.
I love Kerry and I'm so happy God knew you were for me before I even knew myself.

That's a wrap, for now. Time to heal. From the bottom of our hearts we can not thank you enough for being on this ride with us. You are what made it special, you are what gave me the greatest joy of my working career, working hand in hand with my high school sweetheart, watching her bring joy and smiles to your faces. Time to rest, heal and regroup. Nothing would make us happier then to get back up and serve you and help our community together once again. So we won't say goodbye because that would be too sad instead we'll say see you soon.
