To our porch bakery family —

I wanted to share a personal update.

Due to some very difficult and unexpected health challenges with my husband, and because of his recent timeline, I have made the hard decision to temporarily close the bakery so I can be fully present as his caregiver during this time.

This little porch bakery has meant so much to me, and the love and encouragement you’ve shown from our front porch has carried me more than you know.

🚨 EGG-STRAVAGANZA ALERT! 🚨

Our extremely happy hens have been busy… like really busy. These free-range backyard bandits are laying creamy, delicious butt-nuggets faster than we can eat them! 🤣🐓✨

Since bakery pre-orders were picked up yesterday and nobody grabbed eggs, our girls are basically throwing us a sale. Normally it’s $4 for a half dozen and $8 for a full dozen — but because our hens are on cloud nine (and apparently eating better than we do), YOU get to benefit!

These eggs are incredible — I swear they eat better than we do! Our happy hens give us about a dozen a day, and the eggs are so creamy and flavorful. Most of my baking uses these eggs, and I truly believe it makes all the difference.

Once you receive your confirmation, you’ll get another text on Saturday when your order is ready for pickup.

Due to low sales at this time, we’re shifting back to pre-orders only for our weekly bake sales. This helps prevent waste and allows me to bake exactly what’s needed without losing time, ingredients, or beautiful loaves that may otherwise go uneaten. ❤️

I’d love to take a moment to introduce myself. Hi, I’m Stacy—your Sicilian-blooded, flour-covered, accidentally-accountant-turned-baker. I grew up in my grandmother’s bakery, where I learned that butter, love, and a little chaos make the best recipes. Naturally, I went to college and got an accounting degree… and discovered I’d rather watch paint dry. Twice.

I come from a long line of beauty-industry pros—my grandfather the barber, my grandmother the beautician, my mom the manicurist. In true rebel fashion, I refused to follow in anyone’s footsteps… until I met my husband, he picked up a camera, and somehow I ended up doing hair and makeup. And I did it for 20+ years!

Life threw some curveballs, including some back issues that nudged me into retirement and my husband’s health journey. But that opened the door to what I truly love: baking. Every loaf, cookie, and crumble that comes out of Nonas Breads & Sweets is made with heart, humor, and usually a sprinkle of “oh please rise, please rise.” - true story.

Running my little cottage bakery lets me care for my family while doing something that feeds my soul (and hopefully yours). As a lifelong business owner, I believe in good old-fashioned face-to-face honesty. If something’s ever off, wrong, or just “hmm,” please come to me directly—I promise I don’t bite, and your feedback only makes us better.

We also LOVE suggestions—if it’s doable, I’ll try it. My long-term dream is to fully homestead: veggies, eggs, jams, breads, and whatever else my brain comes up with at 3 AM when I’m feeding my sourdough starter — true story.
