Community is about more than what we do. It’s about what we inspire in one another. ❤️
I canned these jars a while ago, but this story really isn’t about canning. It’s about community, friendship, and how one simple invitation can spark something in someone else.
I want to thank my friend Ruth for inviting me over to her house to can spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, and tomato juice together. We spent the day talking about life and simply enjoying each other’s company.
Little did she know that one afternoon would give me just enough oomph to come home and can 40 (missing my other picture of what I canned)more jars on my own! 😂🍅
Sometimes, all it takes is spending time with someone who inspires us to get back to something we haven’t done in a while. If I hadn’t spent that day with Ruth, I honestly don’t know if I would have found that spark again.
I’m also so thankful for our neighbor Phil, who had a huge garden this summer and generously shared peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant with me. Those gifts were another reminder of how much we can bless one another simply by sharing what we have.
And this week, I get to pay that inspiration forward. I’m heading to a friend’s house to help her w**d her landscape, and I hope that, in some small way, I can encourage her just as Ruth encouraged me.
That’s what community is all about. ❤️
It’s showing up. It’s sharing what we have. It’s working alongside one another, talking about life and God, and reminding each other that we don’t have to do everything alone.
Sometimes we go to help someone else, and we leave feeling just as encouraged as they do.
You never know what a simple invitation might spark in someone’s life.
So, who could you invite into your day this week? Who could you offer a helping hand, share a meal with, work alongside, or simply sit and talk with?
You might be surprised by the hope, encouragement, and inspiration that grows when we choose to do life together. 🌱❤️
