BAYOU PIGEON CRAWFEST UPDATE – RAIN OR SHINE! 🌦️

The Bayou Pigeon Heritage Association wants everyone to know that the 5th Annual Bayou Pigeon Crawfest scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, will go on regardless of the weather.

While the forecast is still uncertain, says 50% chance of Rain.

We are already implementing our plans to ensure that our guests, vendors, musicians, and volunteers can enjoy a great day of food, music, fellowship, and fun.

Our festivities will be moved to our indoor facilities, including the BPHA Activity Center and our covered outdoor pavilion. All scheduled activities—including the bands, auctions, food service, and museum tours—will continue as planned.

🎵 Live MusicT ; The bands will perform inside the Activity Center at their regularly scheduled times.🍽️

Food Service: All of your favorite Crawfest menu items—including boiled crawfish, crawfish pies, crawfish fettuccine, fried fish, hambuergers, hotdogs, sweets, and more—will be served from our Activity Center serving line.

🔨 Auctions: The live and silent auctions will be conducted inside the Activity Center at the times posted on our event schedule. The raffle drawings will done in the activity center as well.

🎨 Arts & Crafts Vendors: We will work with our vendors on the morning of the event and arrange booth locations according to weather conditions. Vendors who choose not to participate because of weather concerns will be offered the option of a rain check for a future event or reimbursement of their booth fee.

🚗 Parking Information: The biggest challenge we anticipate is parking. Due to the recent wet conditions, our regular parking area at the ball field is too saturated to safely accommodate vehicles. As a result, parking will be available along Highway 75 and other designated areas. We will have shuttle vehicles operating throughout the day to assist visitors who may need to park farther away from the festival grounds. The sheriff will provide deputies to help guide traffic satety.

Our volunteers will do everything possible to make your arrival and departure as convenient as possible.

🙏 A Special Prayer : We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience these weather-related adjustments may cause. However, with so many volunteers, vendors, musicians, sponsors, and supporters committed to this event, cancellation is simply not an option.

As many of you know, Our Lady, Queen of Peace, the patroness of our shrine at the Bayou Pigeon Heritage Association, watches over our community. We ask for her intercession and pray that the rain holds off long enough for us to enjoy a wonderful day together.

🏛️ Museum Open: The Bayou Pigeon Museum will be open throughout the day, giving visitors an opportunity to explore and experience the unique history and culture of the Atchafalaya Basin.

👢 A Little Cajun Advice: Leave the fancy shoes at home. This may be a day when your "white Cajun boots" are the perfect footwear!

Most importantly, we ask that you come out and support the Bayou Pigeon Heritage Association, our museum, our vendors, and all the hardworking volunteers who have invested countless hours to make this event possible.

Rain or shine, we'll be ready to welcome you to Bayou Pigeon Crawfest 2026!Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on June 6th.— Bayou Pigeon Heritage Association Board of Directors

Fr. Al Davidson will be there and has ask ed “Our Lady Queen of Peace “ we ask in your sons name Jesus Christ … help us make this day a success “

Crawfest 2026

In the small Cajun community of Bayou Pigeon festivals and fundraisers are far more than social events.

They are a living expression of heritage, preserving the values, relationships, and traditions that have long defined closeness of Cajuns people.

For some, the road led away from these bayous—toward opportunity, careers, and a different kind of future. The world called, and they answered. But something never left.

Feet may travel far—but the heart never does. Because this place shaped who you are. It taught faith, family, and the value of a simple life rooted in community.

Every return, whether for a weekend, a funeral, a festival, or just a drive down Highway 75, is not just a visit. It is a homecoming.

This year our Crawfest is on June 6, 2026. It is following the tradition of the Bayou Pigeon Church Fairs which was always on the first Saturday of June.

Mark your Calendars this year Crawfest is going to our Biggest and Best we will have over 40 arts and crafts vendors.

This is our 6 th Crawfest in the new era of the Bayou Pigeon Heritage Association ....

Hey Everybody,

Check out the shortcut we attached—it’s a great little video about Houseboat / Camp Boat living in the Pierre Part / Belle River area. It’s a very cool story, and honestly, it could be about any of our folks from Bayou Pigeon too!

We thought it was the perfect time to share because, at the end of the video, they’re cooking nutria—a reminder of how Cajuns have always been creative and resourceful with wild game.

👉 That brings us to an invitation:

Are there any brave Cajuns out there willing to cook at our Wild Beast Feast on October 11, 2025?

There’s still plenty of time to enter the contest—so dust off your recipes, sharpen those knives, and get ready to show off your wild side!

What makes Bayou Pigeon and Bayou Pigeon Heritage special...

Bayou Pigeon and its Heritage Association embody the heritage, and spirit of Cajun communities: tightly bonded,

Cajuns are descended from the Acadians, French-speaking people who were expelled from Nova Scotia in the mid-1700s during the Great Expulsion. When they resettled in the swamps, around Bayou Pigeon, Pierre Part _and Belle River

They learned early on that community cooperation was not optional—it was essential.

Yesterday morning, Mike Dupre and I went to the Heritage Museum to take some measurements... looking at the grass at the site that needed cutting and realizing that the weather forecast was calling rain for the rest of the week. Realizing that three of the board members who usually handle this were out of state on vacation. or business. That it would get out of hand..

With that said, I went to Bayou Pigeon Seafood and asked Glenda Randazzo if she could help ...

Today, the complete site ... the grass was cut , and weeds eaten.

Glenda truly embodies community cooperation and the Spirit of Bayou Pigeon and always comes through. I know she sent some of her people and their equipment to get it done

Special thanks Chris & Glenda Randazzo, they are committed to preserving Bayou Pigeon Heritage...

Thank them when you see them
