Customers sometimes ask me if their cake will melt if left out in the sun or in a hot car while they run into the store for last minute stuff 🙄 This pretty much sums it up!
I always recommend that if you leave it out in the house or at an event venue, the room should be 75 or colder. Your car should have a tint or something to block direct sunlight during transport and make it as cold as your car will get. Never put it on the floor board- even if you blow the vent to the floor, the bottom will still be hot metal under a thin layer of carpet. I would recommend that if you are picking up cupcakes, bring a cooler to put them in. Buttercream is…well….butter. This time of year, you have to go that extra mile to make sure the goodies you pay for stay awesome until you get them safely where they belong :)
