Remember that time we teased some big news ... we're bringing Thursdays back!

Here's the thing, the jury's still out if we we'll be opening for morning or afternoon hours

After a wild 48 hours in small business survival mode (stay tuned for a story time), we're back on track and back to planning logistics

Our available choices are 7am-3pm or 12pm-7. These are the choices, this is the way. Love when you give me off the menu suggestions but this time around is a "this or that" based on our teams availability

To help us get good insight, please vote for the time youd visit us if / when we open back up

The target is early / mid june- we have a few more surprises and upgrades we'll be making before we get rolling. If its worth doing, its worth doing right and we've been planning behind the scenes for a few weeks now

Friday 7-7

Opening at our usual time but a little behind on breakfast / filling the cases today. Three 14 hour days in a row and I overslept 😵‍💫

breakfast pastry / buns will be late to come out but I can make you a breakfast sammy since im covering that station too 🤣

Cases will start filling up QUICK once the kitchen crew gets in at 9- until then I'm but one woman with two hands

We're hiring for retail! I need to get my butt out from behind the register and back into the kitchen, the hours listed are ideal but id take any help we can get if the full shift doesnt work for the right person

That being said....

‼️ I need to close June custom orders ‼️ I can't commit to taking on any new orders until we're fully staffed for retail. Trying to prep / bake / decorate and help guests /make drinks / run the sammy station when im solo 3-7 just isn't sustainable 🤷‍♀️

Baking is easy. Running a retail business in 2026 is f*cking hard. Brick & mortar bakeries are absolutely a dying business model and it feels like every time we get one thing under control another falls apart. Is it time for another pivot ? Who knows. But we'll start with we're hiring and hope for the best until then 🤞

We reaaalllyy want to bring back Thursdays, but can't do it without the retail help!

Our ideal candidate :
18+
Has reliable transportation
Available Thursday - Saturday for the shifts listed (willing to hire for 1/2 days for the right people if needed)
Friendly, comfortable working with the public, and comfortable using a register

$16-18/hr depending on experience and availability

Someone literally stole my car this morning so if you were thinking about getting bread today PLEASE DO😂😭 (and no I’m not joking). We won’t have much bread until later in the day thanks to the carjackers. Always lock your Hondas😂

Busy busy weekend means pastry stock is running a little low, so 20% off to help us clear the cases and wrap up the week!

‼️ Sunday bunday at deadproof has been postponed to next week ❤️ turns out it's not a great idea to make dough at 10pm after three 16 hour days in a row 😬 had a little whoopsie and miiighhttt have forgot to turn the oven off when I only wanted to warm the dough

Oh, you showed UP on Friday 👀👀

We got a little nervous when we could count preorders on one hand... but you surprised us all by showing up and basically selling us out yesterday

If you're buying, we're baking- so after a quick lil power nap we're back in action loading up the cases

No longer taking orders for the weekend (I snuck an extra 5 cakes in already 😵‍💫) but if you call and ask nicely the crew will put any in stock items aside for you 😘

Friday 7-7

💫 buy one, get one $5 sammys: buy any breakfast sammy and get a second heat & eat sammy for $5

Cookies & cupcakes fully stocked for 7am- working on the pastry cases after I get breakfast out ❤️

TONS of pasta salads (hot honey peach, balsamic bacon tortellini, classic cookout). Caprese salad, cranberry apple chicken salad available in the grab & go cooler

CHICKEN POT PIES are restocked in the front freezer

BANANA PUDDING BOWLS available after 1pm- we got shorted bananas (again!) on our order and I didn't realize until 10pm 🤷‍♀️

If you read yesterday's post, you know that our preorder menu was a flop 😬 no extra items from the menu available in store today, there just wasn't a demand

Ill have a handful of extra platters Saturday , a bun flight or two and maybe some specials if i get time between customs. Three sixteen hour days in a row and I am tireedd- plus I need to get on over to the Cafe to restock their pastry and paper goods 😅

Its going to be a weird little weekend, but I promise we have some really fun announcements in the next coming weeks that I think you'll love ❤️

Okay, enough yapping... I've got breakfast to bake and cases to fill!

Womp womp womp, MDW preorder menu was a bust

Orders are officially closed with a record breaking 12 orders 🤣

If you placed an order, thank you! We appreciate it and we'll see you for pickup!

If this menu wasn't your jam, that's okay too! We have plenty of goodies in store if you choose to stop in this week

Now that orders are closed, time to shut the laptop and get to prepping 👩‍🍳 see you Friday at 7am!

Not gonna lie, MDW weekend preorders are looking saaaaddddd.

You know what they say... if all pork chops were perfect, we wouldnt have hotdogs 🤷‍♀️

Keeping orders open until 4pm then it might be time to shut 'er down.

The good news? The shop will be absolutely overflowing tomorrow when we open at 7am with tons of themed treats, family sized portions of pasta salads, XXL banana pudding bowls, and more

Oh yeah... and maybe a little sweetness heading over to on Sunday 👀👀
