Hello everyone, Sal Jr. here. I just wanted to let everyone know that with the bakery being under new management, this page will be going away as of January 1, 2023. But worry not, the new owners will continue to make Sal’s delicious goodies with Sal’s much loved recipes. So, what you should all do is start to follow “Nonnies at Mangiafico’s”. Any questions should be directed to that page for this holiday season and beyond. Sal and I wish you all a very happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year!

Venera and Santo have been like a second set of parents to Sal. They are very much like family to us. Venera will definitely be missed. RIP Signora Gibilisco!

Hey everyone, we have some bitter sweet news to share. Sal has found a buyer for Mangiafico’s. While he will most certainly miss all of his wonderful customers, he is looking forward to and is excited about the next chapter of his life, retirement. If anyone has earned the right to sit back and relax, he has. He is very happy that someone with a passion for baking, a strong work ethic, and a desire to carry on what he has worked so hard to establish over the last 26 1/2 years will be taking the reins. He will stay on for a few weeks after the sale to teach Nella his recipes. He is hoping that all of our wonderful customers will keep an open mind and give Nella a chance. We are sure that she will be great and wish her many years of success!

Sal wants to say thank you to all our customers for so many wonderful, happy, and prosperous years. You have made it possible for him provide for his family and live a good life. For that he is eternally grateful. Plainville welcomed him with open arms so many years ago and he loves it here. So, although he won’t be in business any more, he will continue to be part of the community.

** EXCITING NEWS ** Nonnie's is expanding! For the last two years Nonnie's has strived to be an excellent bakery for Southington and the surrounding communities. We are extremely humbled and honored with the amazing success you have given us. I, Nella Lastrina, have been blessed with the opportunity to also purchase Mangiafico's Bakery in Plainville. Sal Mangiafico has owned and operated this bakery for 26 years. We value the customers the Mangiafico family has established through the years and we will continue to serve the community with the same delicious menu. Sal will be working closely with us for a few weeks to ensure we are able to still offer all your favorite bakery items with the same recipes that you have grown to love. We are very excited and look forward to seeing you at either of our locations. ❤

Just a reminder that after we close today at 1:00pm, we will be on vacation. We will reopen on August 5th at 7:00am. We wish everyone a happy and healthy 3 weeks and look forward to seeing your smiling faces when we return.

Just a reminder that we will be closing for our annual summer vacation soon. We will be closed July 11th through August 4th. We will reopen on August 5th at 7:00am. We thank you in advance for your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this will cause.

If there is something you had your heart set on for while we are closed, keep in mind that most of what we make does freeze well. It is not unheard of to order what you you’d like , pick it up the last day we will be open before vacation, and keep it in the freezer (if you have a big enough freezer) until the time that you need it for. Just throwing that option out there for everyone.

Hey everyone, just some information for you. 1st off, yes, it is unfortunately true, after 26 years here in Plainville, Sal has decided the time has come to hang up his oven mitts. He has put Mangiafico’s Bakery up for sale. That being said, the bakery isn’t sold yet. There could be a buyer in the next 2 weeks or 6 months from now. We just don’t know. So there is no end date at the moment. Sal will continue to bake his goodies for the time being. We will keep everyone updated as we get new information. Sal and the rest of us here at Mangiafico’s want to express our gratitude for so many prosperous and happy years of business. If it wasn’t for all of you, who knows where we would be. Also, we want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and love that we have received since it was reported that Sal was planning on retirement. We really do have the best customers here, hands down!

Hi everyone, Sal Jr. here. Just letting everyone know that Dad has decided to not open tomorrow, Saturday the 29th, due to the predicted snow storm. We will reopen on Sunday the 30th. Thank you all for your understanding and please stay safe and warm tomorrow.
