It's October, so why not post about a beer stein cookie? The Grumpy Old Lady was asked to provide some cookies and a cake for a groom's party recently, and these cookies were part of the request. Pastor Dad thinks they turned out quite nicely...all foamy and beer-y looking, but soft and sweet as usual (though we prefer rum to beer). Prost!

It's a very rare occasion that the Grumpy Old Lady gets to work with her beloved Mr. Grumpy in terms of cakes. But they recently had an opportunity to work together for an Eagle Scout Honor Court. Reverend Grumpy Old Man did the invocation and the benediction, and the Grumpy Old Lady did the cake shown here. The Boy Scout emblem is marshmallow fondant, hand made and totally edible (it actually lasted only 10 minutes once the scouts got hold of it!). Congratulations Logan on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, a rare achievement nowadays!
