Well, it's been a minute since the Grumpy Old Lady has posted here! Alas, school and work and cakes have all taken their toll, and the Grumpy Old Lady sometimes has to put social media in last place. BUT! Here's a new post from a recent creation. This was for a baby shower where the dad to be loved golf. So what else could the GOL do but make a golf themed cookie! Lots of work on these cookies, but very satisfying in the end for both mom and dad, and of course, the GOL :-) Enjoy!

It's October, so why not post about a b**r stein cookie? The Grumpy Old Lady was asked to provide some cookies and a cake for a groom's party recently, and these cookies were part of the request. Pastor Dad thinks they turned out quite nicely...all foamy and b**r-y looking, but soft and sweet as usual (though we prefer rum to b**r). Prost!

It's a very rare occasion that the Grumpy Old Lady gets to work with her beloved Mr. Grumpy in terms of cakes. But they recently had an opportunity to work together for an Eagle Scout Honor Court. Reverend Grumpy Old Man did the invocation and the benediction, and the Grumpy Old Lady did the cake shown here. The Boy Scout emblem is marshmallow fondant, hand made and totally edible (it actually lasted only 10 minutes once the scouts got hold of it!). Congratulations Logan on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, a rare achievement nowadays!

One of the Grumpy Old Lady's clients requested the cutest baby elephant she could manage for a baby shower. And even though she's grumpy, she did manage to come up with a pretty cute elephant. Welcome to the world little one...we pray so many blessings for your life!

Even though it's dreary outside right now, the Grumpy Old Lady is always optimistic and looking forward to a wonderful Spring! Check out this cake she did for a client last Easter...carrots and bunny prints celebrating the fact that He is Risen! And it's a carrot cake, of course ;-)

The Grumpy Old Lady is sorry she hasn't been on FB for a while, but cakes and cookies happen! She promises she'll be posting more regularly going forward, but in the meantime, enjoy this cake she made for Christmas Eve services at MountLebanon UnitedMethodist Church. Happy birthday Jesus!
