Thank you so much for making me an official 3-time nominee for Best of PGH!

I’m now a 2-time nominee in back to back years for Best Youtube channel in Pittsburgh and a first time nominee for Best Influencer in Pittsburgh! (Between you and me, not sure how I got the nomination for influencer as I can rarely influence any of you to even watch the channel regularly but so greatly appreciate it.)

I’m honored to be in the running for Pittsburgh City Paper’s Best of PGH 2025 in TWO categories:

When doing a YouTube variety of channel, it’s basically throwing spaghetti at the wall. You don’t know what’s gonna stick and what anyone will watch. No matter how you found the channel, thank you so much for finding me.

This was never the plan.

We had big dreams of fixing up the this old property, painting the building pink again, paving the parking lot and continuing to churn out more and more donuts.

We could never come to an agreement with our landlord to purchase the property. And as the building continues to fall apart and the junk piles up in the parking lot, the rent increases still continue to come.

We will be closing Better Maid at 1178 Steuben Street. Sunday, July 27th was our last day in the old shop.

However, we are not closing forever. We will be moving to a new building close to the old shop. We do not have a reopening date yet as things need built out and renovated, but we will update as everything progresses.

Again, this was never the plan, but we also never thought our gentle harassing of Ken over the years would actually lead to a phone call and donut shop purchase.

This past year plus has been wonderful and the support of the local community and Pittsburgh in general has been amazing! We greatly appreciate everyone that has stopped out, waited in line, and supported our small business.

We will be back as soon as possible, and have a beautiful new space to show off. And don't worry, Ken is coming too.
