We want to take the time to highlight Pastries A-La-Carte's founder and owner, Kathy Battis.
Baking has been in Kathy's family for many years. Her great-grandmother, Ada Rennie, began the tradition after coming to America from England in the early 1900s. Kathy continued her family's legacy by attending the Art Institute for Fine Arts and later Pennsylvania Culinary for Pastry Arts, where she combined her passion for art and baking. She began selling baked goods at local farmers' markets, and on April 9, 2004, she opened Pastries A-La-Carte.
Every day for the last twenty years, Kathy can be seen hard at work baking, decorating wedding cakes, or helping out in the store. Her creativity and ingenuity are the heart and soul of Pastries A-La-Carte.
We've added a new pie to the roster: Gluten Free Pecan Pie!
Our bakers are constantly developing new recipes and products, and thanks to their hard work, we can offer a gluten free version of one of our best-selling pies.
While we're no longer accepting orders for Thanksgiving week, you can order one of these for Christmas (deadline 12/12 at 5pm). We'll do our best to keep the store stocked next week with products, including the Gluten Free Pecan Pie.

Our Chocolate Raspberry Chambord Torte is back! All three layers of dark fudge chocolate cake are soaked in Chambord Liqueur. This torte is filled with two layers of raspberry filling and chocolate mousse. For decoration, it is topped with chocolate shards, fancy!
