What many people are figuring out now, our Black brothers and sisters have always known. Sadly it took the victims looking like you in order to see what is happening. Sitting in that discomfort is an important part of the process of growth. I know that I’ve personally done a lot of growing over the past 6 years (when I originally made these cookies) and I’m still learning how to be a better ally every day by reading, listening to people in my life like my amazing sister-in-law , following Black creatives like and . Our lives are more enriched when we open our eyes, ears, and hearts to others’ lived experiences. It’s on us to continue the fight toward social justice, because if you truly believe that “All Lives Matter,” then you need to believe that Black ones do, too. Happy Black History Month 🩷
