I am not one to share much for personal information and I genuinely keep to myself but I have so many people in my life who care for me and my family and who were praying for us during this difficult time. I am very thankful for all who have supported us and continue to support us. We will be back up and baking soon to get everyone their bread but for now I will share this poem and a bit of information with you all.
Alex and I unfortunately lost another baby this week. We have struggled with secondary infertility for a few years now. This miscarriage was a bit scary as I had to have surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy that was beginning to rupture. Everything went well and I am recovering. Thank you all for all the prayers. They mean the world to us 💕 I can’t wait to get back into normal life of baking for everyone again!
Bury Me in My Play Clothes
When my time on earth is through,
don’t dress me in my Sunday best.
Don’t choose a suit or polished shoes,
or anything meant for a final rest.
Bury me in my play clothes,
the kind a little one would wear,
with pockets made for treasures
and grass stains here and there.
Because I have two little babies
waiting somewhere up above
two tiny souls I never held,
but filled completely with my love.
I wonder if they know me there,
if they’ve been waiting all this time,
if they know the sound of Mama’s voice
and that their hearts are tied to mine.
I picture them with messy hair,
with little hands and laughing eyes,
running through the fields of Heaven
beneath the brightest skies.
And when I finally reach them,
I won’t need to say goodbye.
I’ll scoop them both into my arms
and hold them for the first time.
So bury me in my play clothes,
because I have somewhere to be
a playdate with my two sweet babies
who have been waiting there for me.
And until that day, my little ones,
I’ll carry you in everything I do.
Two babies loved beyond this life,
two little pieces of me and you.
For now, I’ll live the days I’m given,
and love you from down here.
And when Heaven calls me home at last,
I know you’ll both be waiting there.
So don’t dress me for goodbye.
Dress me like I’m going out to play.
Because I’ll finally get my playdate
with my babies that day.
