I loved creating this sugar flower cake, featuring anemones, roses, ranunculus, and some jasmine flower vines. The braided gold border may “take the cake” and is my favorite detail! Each piece was individually cut, shaped, and painted before being placed. Thank you to for the beautiful photo and to for thinking of me for this. I loved designing and creating this one!

This sugar flower covered cake was designed for a colorful and elegant wedding at a private residence in Sedona, AZ. It is with great pleasure seeing it on the pages of ! Traci of was an absolute pleasure and joy to work with and captured this picture beautifully! This wedding was almost as stunning as the Bride, herself. This wedding was an absolute pleasure to design and create for and it was the first wedding I’ve been invited to as a vendor. I was so honored and humbled to be a small part of the couple’s special day and watch them say their vows and dance the evening away!

CHEERS TO 2018! One year ago I had the privilege of delivering the most intricate and challenging cake I’ve ever created. This cake was custom designed for the wedding reception of and .nicolephelps and I was extremely grateful to have had this opportunity from who put on a fabulous event! Wishing everyone a wonderful 2018! Heartsweet Cakes will be expanding by one come March, when we welcome our first child to this world, and will be taking some time off but I assure you that I have big plans for my small business in the future and will be back! For those of you who I’ve had the great pleasure of working with you have been lucky to have met this guy here. My loving and supportive husband who helps me out way more than just lending a hand on cake deliveries. He’s the reason Heartsweet Cakes has been possible and is the reason the best is still yet to come. So here’s to a year of change but also a year of growth. As always, thank you for following along my cake journey! This picture was captured by at an incredible wedding in Sedona this fall that we were honored to stay as guests. This cake was adorned with a full cascade of sugar flowers to match the fresh flowers and had an edible tree trunk base. It was a pleasure working with the kind and lovely Traci with !

This wedding cake pushed me so much creatively and I’ll never forget seeing Larry and Miguel’s faces when they saw their wedding cake. As an artist my goal is to never create the same cake twice. My designs are inspired by each couple’s wedding day and I always say that my cakes could never be placed at another event because they are uniquely one-of-a-kind; just like the couples themselves. I’m grateful to for thinking of me for this special couple who had fabulous taste and impeccable style. It was an honor to design and create for designers themselves who truly appreciated my work and art. Larry and Miguel’s wedding was tailored around red orbs that were seen all throughout their wedding and reception space at . The orbs on the cake were handmade from both chocolate and some were made from gelatin. I placed red LED lights inside the translucent gelatin orbs to make them glow! The black offset tiers were the perfect backdrop for these cascading orbs! Thank you to for capturing this edible work of art!

An all-time favorite cake of mine (which is really hard for me to say because I’m always so proud of each piece). The bougainvillea on this cake were tediously handcrafted out of sugar and the Greek-inspired blue tile work was the perfect backdrop to make them really pop. Thank you of for bringing me on board for this one!

At the end of each year I love looking back through some of the custom work I’ve created. It’s always humbling to reminisce about the special couples who’ve chosen to work with me and I dream of those who I will meet in the future years. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Today is always a day of reflection and as I think about this little business I’ve slowly built over the past two years I’m overcome with gratitude. I’m thankful for my family who raised me to believe in myself and take the giant leap of entrepreneurship, my Husband for his unwavering encouragement, love, and support, all of my clients who have valued my art and let me into their most special life moments, and last but not least the wedding industry here in Arizona who has continued to support me and validate that Heartsweet Cakes is worthy to be a part of this amazing community.
