I have posted about this before and was hoping to be able to offer classes but the Maryland Cottage Food Law decided April 2025 that we are no longer allowed to offer classes or DIY Kits which I have been doing well before COVID. I loved teaching kids and adult classes. This applies to Cake decorating as well 🤬Spoke with them and they say that is the law, no reason. Basically I would have to give you the icing, a mixer and you would have to make at the class, then add the colors, get the right icing consistency and bag. This is no different to me decorating a cookie at home. I went back and forth with the Health Dept and said that is the law. If you are in MD and want to change this stupid new law you have to write to your delegate/senator/state representative. There are more important things in MD that need addressing….and the Health Dept decide to add this stupid new law. Cookie Class I did a few years ago. Nobody wants to attend a class and have to mix icing. I even work out of separate kitchen in my home to my home kitchen.
