Hello customers! It has been a long time since I have posted. My spinal fusion went very well, but my husband and I have decided that I will not be reopening the bakery. For those of you looking for fresh bread for Christmas, I have a good friend that has fired her bakery back up.

What a difference this Easter. Instead of stressed, late nights of preparing orders, I am crystalizing pansies grown on the front porch for fun. I have been baking for enjoyment and am working on something special for someone special. May you all have a blessed Easter.

Big announcement! I am closing the bakery effective immediately until 9/1/25. Some of my customers already know that I have severe spinal stenosis. I have surgery scheduled for a spinal fusion in May. I thought that I would be able to continue, at least making my bread, up until my surgery. Unfortunately, the neuropathy in my legs is to the point where I am going to have to call it early. I will have about 3 months with no bending or twisting post surgery with an estimated 9-12 months for total healing. If all goes well, I hope to get Bertha fired up and be back to baking in September. For customers in Cave Creek and the far north valley, please seek out . Gina is a talented "from scratch" baker who serves this area and can hook you up with delicious sourdough bread, cakes, cupcakes, etc. I will still be baking for my own personal consumption and enjoyment, so I will post from time to time to keep my page active. Thank you all for your patronage and friendship.

Happy St Patrick's Day! ☘️Sorry that I did not make a post on Friday about available bread. I completely sold out and had no extras to offer. The next bake day is tomorrow, Tuesday. I already have some pre-orders but will have a couple of sourdough rounds to customize to your liking. Please message or text to reserve a loaf. Also, tomorrow is the only bread baking day I will have this week. My daughter is here visiting, so I'm going to spend more time with her and less time in the kitchen.

I'm back from b***o camp and took a couple of extra days off to rest. Here's a picture of me at camp showing off a massive 4 lb. sourdough round. 😂 I will be offering porch pick up on Friday afternoon. I will be baking sandwich loaves and rustic rounds. Message if you'd like to reserve a loaf. From here on out, all extra loaves will be plain jane, so if you want add-ins reserve a loaf!

I forgot to announce that I am taking the week off to prepare for the Black Canyon Donkey Derby this weekend. If you don't have plans, it's a family friendly event. Race starts at 10 am, petting zoo, face painting, food trucks and 100 donkey/human racing teams. It all takes place at Deep Canyon Ranch 18181 East Deep Canyon Tr, Black Canyon City, AZ 85324.

Doing things I shouldn't today. 😂 I am having a bread bake day on Tuesday, so let me know if you want bread and I will happily customize a loaf with your add-ins. After Tuesday, I will be laying low the remainder of the week. I have appointments scheduled, including the hand specialist. NOTE: if you come for porch pick up over the next couple of weeks, 13 Avenue is closed! You will need to use 15th Ave to get to my house.
