Darnel’s Cakes is a project that raises awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and financially supports local and national organizations that are at the forefront of fighting the virus, disease, and/or associated stigmas. Darnel Lamer Ray Scott, 21, was one of my first cousins who unfortunately passed away on January 13, 2013 due to AIDS complications. Darnel was born and raised in Athens, GA and i

s survived by his mother, Lalita Scott, sister Jaleesa Scott and extended family and friends across the US. Many of the people affected by his passing have done their part to build upon his legacy and work toward an end to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

It's that time of year AGAIN! it's time to celebrate the Queen known as Janet Jackson as she completes another trip around the sun!

Here at Darnel's, we do this by recreating a smaller version of the birthday cake that Kyle made for THEE MS. JACKSON 3 years ago HERE in PHILADELPHIA for you to enjoy.

The cake is our take on strawberry shortcake. It's comprised of a buttery vanilla sponge, fresh strawberries and strawberry pastry cream. You also might find a little whipped cream cheese frosting in there, too.

You can find this cake here at 444 N 3rd, and at our farmer's markets this weekend. There will be half and whole versions of the cake at all locations while they last Lansdale Farmers Market and Northern Liberties Farmers Market. The pre-order links are in the story for all locations. ;)

The holidays are in full swing around here! Find us at outdoor and indoor markets all month long.

First up is the Faimount Farmer's Market today from 2pm -5pm at 22nd & Fairmount Ave. Grab some egg nog cheesecake bars!

This weekend find in our usual spot at from 11am-1pm on Saturday, and also at the East Falls Indoor Winter Market from 1pm-7pm Saturday and Sunday! We'll be serving a selection of hot drinks including coffee, tea, and cider; pastries and snacks!

We are taking a week off so we'll see you NEXT Saturday 12/13!

Cookie production for the has been ramped up. Just a tad. We received some feedback from one of our regulars that has a bone to pick with us. A couple weeks ago we ran out of chocolate chip cookies right before Ellis came to claim their much awaited snack. Ellis is still pretty grumpy, and we dont want that to happen again. If we run out again, I might get called into the principals office! 🤣🤣🤣

Anywho, see ya tomorrow at 9am! We'll have plenty of cookies!
