We make everything from scratch using the same recipes handed down through five generations since we first opened in 1918. Our breads are traditional Italian style, brick oven-baked fresh daily, from hoagie rolls to ciabatta and everything in between. We are also pleased to serve scones, co

okies, and our famous tomato pie. Over the years, Sarcone’s been a staple in South Philadelphia not only for its bread but also for its integrity. This is a fact that we understand, appreciate and take very seriously. Our pledge is to continue to retain this lofty standard and to continue to raise the bar even higher in the future. We’re proud to be a family-run business, and with 103 years of honest ingredients and friendly service, we hope to continue to tradition for many years to come!

It’s time to share with the world what we put into our bread to make it so good!

Ready?

- Flour
- Water
- Salt
- Malt
- Yeast

That’s it.

It’s not about what we put in our dough—it’s about what we don’t.

Bread, the way it should be, is made with all-natural ingredients.

We constantly see a list of preservatives and additives to make bread last for days (even longer sometimes), come out picture-perfect every time, and speed up the baking process to increase production. That is not our version of bread. We have never used any of those ingredients, and we never will.

Those natural ingredients, Philly water, century-old brick ovens, timing, and the love we put in every dough—that is what makes our product, ours. That is Sarcone’s.
