An original poem inspired by flowers and their meanings.
-
When year after year, frost after frost,
Find endless cycles of loss after loss.
There is a pushing, a growing, a yearning for more.
Like a glimmer of hope, from a far distant shore.
Take a lesson from sweet Columbine.
A flower whose name marks the saddest of times.
She bows her head as if she knows,
Of the shadow she cast, the shade she throws.
But year after year, frost after frost,
Through endless cycles, at unknown costs,
She is pushing, and growing, and blossoming sweetly.
To win back the world, to triumph discreetly.
The cold makes her hardy, to weather the winter,
But when spring comes, she’ll be counted a winner.
You will as well, if you don’t give up hope,
Of the joys to come and the power to cope.
