I had the pleasure of working with the Culinary students at PORTA High School yesterday. They baked homemade cupcakes, and I taught them how to decorate using piping bags and tips. These students were amazing! They listened intently as I talked about everything from food safety to how to make buttercream frosting to the do’s and don’t’s of decorating. Then, we got to dig in and decorate some cupcakes! They each got to color their own frosting and pick how they wanted to decorate their set of cupcakes. I am SO proud of these students! Not one person showed defeat when they didn’t get it quite right the first time, or criticize their peers. Every single student was positive, engaged, and incredibly polite to their “never done this before” instructor. Thank you for having me, Mrs. Holtman. It was a blast!!!

Let me tell you about decorated cookies. They are NOT easy. They are NOT the same as decorating cakes. They almost BROKE me. BUT, they are DELICIOUS and so pretty ♥️ I'll keep practicing!
