These have to be my favorite molasses cookies ever and will be on the menu! This special cookie is a Five Spice Molasses Cookie. I can hardly wait to be back in business. Hopefully that'll be soon! This week I made the big decision to get my other knee replaced in October. So I'm anxious to get back in business before then. I'm aiming for June. I don't think I'll be able to bake the quantity I was baking previously until I have two new knees but I'll do what I can and it will be delicious.

Friday is my knee manipulation surgery to break up the scar tissue in the knee I had replaced. I really needed a win today. I did it slowly with a lot of rests with my knee hooked up to my ice machine but I got it done and you know what I still got it. They are delicious. Chewy Brown Butter Cookies with oatmeal and pecans toasted in a super charged brown butter.

Getting my ducks in a row after almost 7 weeks of total knee replacement recovery and almost four months of recovery since my fall feels so good. Lots to get done before my next knee procedure.

The Flour Pot update- Today is six weeks since total knee replacement. Unfortunately I'm unable to bend my knee 90 degrees and the window to regain that range is 8 weeks then it's too late so my surgeon told me he needs to put me under general anesthesia so he can manipulate my knee to break up the scar tissue. Evidently, it's rare to have to do this and it means more pain and a longer recovery. As you can imagine I'm very upset about this and honestly scared of more pain because it's been a lot already. Healing thoughts much appreciated.

I did it!!! My first batch of post total knee replacement cookies baked and tasted and oh my are they yummy! Malted Chocolate Shortbread 🩷🩷🩷 They will definitely be on the menu.

What have I been doing since I had to take a hiatus from baking in December? I decided to teach myself how to embroider! I've made four pieces so far. My latest piece "Canal Walk" took 130 hours to complete. I've been working on it while recovering from my total knee replacement.

I finished my latest piece last night. So this morning I'm working on ideas for The Flour Pot bakes once I can get back to baking.

This afternoon my mom found a bag of strawberry and peach hand pies that I stashed away in the freezer and forgot so guess what we're having for dessert. I can't wait!

The baker in me needed to bake but that's going to be awhile so I checked Madge the freezer and to my surprise I found a single Heirloom Apple Hand Pie and three Miso Walnut Chocolate Chunk Cookies leftover from my last pop-up. I decided I could handle heating up a hand pie and baking three tiny balls of cookie dough and what a treat. Helped me feel more like myself.

3 weeks since total knee replacement and while I can't say I'm still kicking, I am doing three different types of leg lifts. Today, I got 30 injections in my head and neck for chronic migraine and one in my hip and tomorrow I start a steroid taper pack in hopes that I can ease this migraine situation and hopefully help the severe nerve pain in my leg. I'm feeling a bit trapped by my limitations right now and I can’t wait to be back to baking. I'm trying to tap into the patience I have when baking or doing embroidery to get me through this. One of the things I'm missing most is interacting with people. One of my absolute favorite parts of The Flour Pot is my interactions with my customers. Miss you guys! ❤️
