We are a microbakery located in central illinois (peoria). We specialize in serving fun creative baked goods with purpose. We also have a free birthday cake program for children impacted by snap benefits!

Sign is temporarily down, but we’re still here! The third window is being replaced (yay!) today and then flashing will be put around the new windows.

We plan to be open our normal hours (noon-6pm Tues-Sat) this week. There’s framing to complete, but the wonderful crew at Grawey Glass said it shouldn’t interfere with your ability to visit.

Our sign area needs more work before it’s back in place though, so please tell your friends and neighbors and anyone who asks that Lit. on Fire Books still exists for your book buying, open mic, and browsing needs. 🩵🩷💛

Im gonna be sappy.

I started selling cakes 2 days after finding out my dad died.
I worked at the Luther botanical gardens and had to literally leave to see my dad's body. And I kept going. My dad was my only family that was in my life. He paid for me to get my license to do this. He believed in me.

I kept selling even when my health and life were falling apart.
I recently moved into my own house where its just me and my kids and I struggle to just have the energy to exist.

I still got up. Went to markets and events were I only sold one item.

Made free birthday cakes constantly.
Fed the homeless after every market.
Donated cakes and desserts to local charities.

Still not being able to not be in the negative bc i love what I do.
I love feeding people. I love being of service. I love leading with my heart.

My business has been a slow grow. But I have been supported by other great local businesses. I have a community of people who support whenever they can and that is enough to keep me able to do good recklessly.

These past few months I have struggled on whether or not to close. Because things are more expensive. And I was just feeling defeated at the state of the world and how nasty people are.
I kept feeling like someone like me would never get the support I see others getting.

Then suddenly. The clouds broke. And things are getting much better. Im meeting more people who support and offer to help us grow.

Im feeding more people in the community when people need this sweetness the most.
And recently ive been able to upgrade a couple things i needed (your girl didnt even have a whisk for weeks)

I say this to say. Thank you for everything. Thanks for being here. Sharing my stuff. Supporting me when yall can. Its not unnoticed. Its so deeply seen.
