You may remember a while back I entered a contest - turns out I missed an email that had a whole set of rules that I didn't end up finding out until the day of the contest... It was far to late to change my design to comply so I had to sit it out. I was almost in tears and embarrassed and frustrated but my husband thought it was hilarious and had me laughing about it instead of beating myself up over the mistake. What can I say, family is everything! So I thought today, Veteran's Day, would be a fitting day to reveal what would have been my entry since it honors military families and those who support them such as Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. If you are not familiar with this organization, please visit their page and consider supporting them in their service to military and their families! And to all Veterans, the true super heroes, a sincere thank you from us at Entre Amis β€
The theme was "Superheroes Unite!" I chose to interpret that by incorporating classic heroes and the real life superheroes, our military families and those who support them π Bottom 2 tiers were dummies with LED lights around the bottom to enhance the cityscape (which is what got me disqualified π oops.....) Top tier was pumpkin cake with pecan pie filling and cinnamon and vanilla Italian meringue buttercream; 2nd tier was dark chocolate espresso cake with dark chocolate ganache filling and caramel and vanilla Italian meringue buttercream. Decorated with vanilla fondant and topped with handmade figures made from fondant and gumpaste.
Hope to see you Sunday at the Beautiful Beginnings Bridal Expo at the Bay Center! Please stop by our booth and say hello, I would love to meet with you π
