This announcement is long overdue. For more reasons than one I have made the difficult decision to close Maiden Holland. Perhaps I’ll return to it someday when life settles down. Perhaps I won’t. Life has tugged me a different direction and what started as a pause has become a bittersweet realization that this is simply not the season for doing all the things. And that’s perfectly alright. More important things exist in the mundane, less glamours moments that comprise our days. Baking for you has been such a highlight and much needed outlet for my creativity. I will cherish the community and fun memories and friendships this journey has brought. Your support, through it all, overwhelms me. I’ve learned so much and I will be forever grateful for how you helped this home bakery succeed! 🤍 Thank you! 👋🏻

Meet our newest little squish. 🩷She made her wild arrival at home last night, nearly a week early, chasing the heels of tornado sirens 🌪️, a full moon 🌝, and 200 graduation cookies 🎓 (which thankfully still got delivered)! We are both doing well, but I plan to take a step back from baking & social media for an undetermined time in order to soak up these precious days. 👋🏻

If you aren’t familiar with these Dutch waffle cookies you’re in for a treat. Often enjoyed on top of a hot drink, these unique cookies have a caramel-y, cinnamon filling sandwiched between two thin waffles. The filling, which hardens at room temperature melts into a gooey caramel sauce from the steam of the cup. It can then be eaten or dunked into coffee, cocoa, or any other hot drink. It’s an iconic Dutch goodie!
