🚨 ATTENTION PECKVILLE & JESSUP DRIVERS! 🚨

It’s that time of year again! The annual Steamtown Marathon is coming through our area this Sunday, October 11, and that means some temporary road closures.

For the safety of the runners, both bridges connecting Peckville and Jessup at Depot Street and Bridge Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during the marathon.

We know these are heavily traveled roads, especially for those who regularly travel between Peckville and Jessup, so please plan ahead and allow yourself some extra travel time.

And let’s give some credit to the runners. While most of us are looking forward to a relaxing Sunday morning and a cup of coffee, these folks have decided that running 26.2 miles sounds like a good idea! 🏃

Our officers will be assisting with traffic control to help keep everyone safe. We ask motorists to be patient, follow posted detours, and never attempt to drive around barricades.

We will provide an update once the roads have reopened.

Best of luck to all the runners participating in this year’s Steamtown Marathon!
