Forgotten Angels Foundation, is a Pearland-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities – at home at work and in the community. We are looking for a gardener to join our team at the Green Angels Farm. Responsibilities of this position are focused on assisting people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities in their work and activities at the Green Angels Farm, including:
PLANT CARE:
• Planting seeds
• Watering
• Weeding herb beds
• Grooming (deadheading, pruning, etc.)
• Monitoring for insects and diseases
• Fertilizing
• Harvesting
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE:
• Cleaning in and around the garden (sweeping, raking, etc.)
• Weeding garden beds and paths
• Mowing
• Maintaining a clean work environment
PROCESSING:
• Moving harvested herbs into and out of dehydrators
• Storing dehydrated herbs
• Checking quality of product
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Positive attitude and a high energy level
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, dig, rake, etc.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs occasionally
• Ability to withstand weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, wind, rain, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Existing plant knowledge or gardening/landscaping experience
• Prior experience working with people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities
HOURS:
• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday
PAY
• $8.50 per hour
