Pull up a seat in our kitchen and linger awhile. We bake with love from our oven to your table - only the best. The dream of Yellow Apron Baking Company began when Marilyn was a little girl. Watching her mom, Maria, prepare amazing meals for her family every day with so much love inspired Marilyn to step into the kitchen with her. At an early age, she realized that duplicating her mom's wonderful
and comforting flavors was not an easy task. But while her beautiful mom has always been a beautifully amazing cook, baking has never been Maria's thing. Lucky for the family, Marilyn discovered a great love for baking! As Marilyn grew up, she would dream of someday owning her own bakery. Oddly enough, she didn't plan for or think of a culinary career when entering the world as a bright eyed seventeen year old high school graduate. Instead, she tried to come up with the career she would be most content with for the next forty+ years so that someday, maybe, she would be lucky enough to open her dream bake shop when she retired. Sounds kind of silly now that we think about it. It wasn't until 2010 that Marilyn decided to step into the world of food. She enrolled in the culinary arts program at Alvin Community College, where she learned from some amazing instructors and alongside some amazing fellow students. After a few stints working in restaurants and bakeries, Marilyn decided to open her own business with a little persistent encouragement from her best friend. After countless recipe tests and brainstorming sessions trying to come up with the perfect name, Yellow Apron Baking Company came to life in August 2015. Currently baking in a shared kitchen in Pearland, she is grateful for each of the wonderful customers who allow her and her baked sweets to be part of their special occasions and looks forward to the day she gets to open the door to her own bake shop. You can also find her at local events and farmers markets in the area. Keep an eye on the events calendar here and on the YABco website. We truly love what we do and hope you will too!
