Peabody residents..... If you're interested in what is happening with our city please join in the City Council meetings which are held the 2nd and LAST Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in the city hall meeting room. Call the city office 620-983-2174 to be added to the email list that features the agenda and minutes of the previous meeting. This email will be sent the Friday before each meeting as a reminder and it will have the link to watch online if you can't be there in person. Please download Microsoft Teams on your electronic device to watch remotely. If you have questions regarding codes for our community you can visit the website. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be Monday, August 31st at 7:00 pm in the city meeting room.

**Storm Drain information... When we get massive amounts of rain at one time, the storm drains get inundated with excess water too quickly, back up with clogging and can't drain properly. To help our Public Works crew out would you all please keep the street gutters in front of your property cleared of trash, mud, sticks and leaves.

I will be out and about taking pictures and starting communication with property owners regarding potential code violations. This is step one on voluntary compliance. My hope is we can work together and most of the issues can be resolved at this level and not turn into official code violations notice.

**A LITTLE FALL & WINTER SCHEDULE UPDATE … As the seasons change, so does our schedule at Gathered ‘Round Bistro & Bakery! Beginning Wednesday, September 2nd, we’ll be adjusting our evening closing time for the upcoming fall & winter season.
NEW CLOSING TIME: 7:00 PM instead of 8:00 PM. Our daytime hours will remain the same, and we’ll still be here serving up the same scratch-kitchen goodness, homemade breads, sweet treats, warm hospitality, and a cozy place to gather.
We’re so grateful for every person who walks through our doors, shares a meal, grabs a sweet treat, visits with friends, or simply comes in to sit and relax for a while.
Thank you for continuing to support our little Bistro & Bakery. We appreciate you more than you know! So mark your calendars: Starting Wednesday, September 2nd, we’ll be closing at 7:00 PM.

**Gathered ‘Round Bistro & Bakery… The bistro will be closed Thursday morning and early afternoon to go to a retirement luncheon. I will be open for our Thankful Thursday Supper special from 5-8:00 pm.
**MKC is still looking for people in this area to help with the fall harvest season in this area. Come to the Peabody MKC location and ask Jay Gfeller or Chuck Knight for details.
**Monday August 31st Peabody Farmer's Market Meal... 4:30-6:30 Pulled Pork, Baked Potato, Green Beans, Homemade Cookie, Water. Suggested donation $10. Proceeds help set Ady and Hannah Winter up for success in chasing their college volleyball dreams.
**Peabody Market… Starting Monday, August 17, the store has started opening at 7 am Monday thru Friday. Stop by for a coffee, energy drink, hot sandwich or a little Debbie.
**Good News for Our Families!
USD 398 Peabody-Burns is excited and grateful to offer free meals for students on non-school days throughout the school year!
This program will help provide nutritious meals for our students during days when school is not in session, including Staff Development Days, Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, Spring Break, and more.
