For most of my life I have been baking & creating birthday cakes for my siblings and then eventually their growing families. Then 18 years ago a niece asked me to make her wedding cake and I have been baking & creating desserts for family, friends and their random referral's since then. The cookie request was simple—tan boots with pink flowers and three specific shapes with the same flowers.

Sometimes you have the perfect cookie cutter… and sometimes you just have to improvise—or even cut the shape by hand!

I had the other shapes, a boot cutter, and plenty of flower cutters, but no boots-with-flowers cutter. So I borrowed a section from one of my flower cutters, combined it with the boot, and voilà—flower-filled cowboy boots!

One of my favorite parts of decorating is figuring out how to take a customer's idea and make it come to life.

Then you get a real birthday surprise—a trip to Hawaii! Yes, please! 🏝️✈️

Another fun set to create. I think those sea turtles might just be my favorite!

Life got busy, but it's about time I shared a few photos from my daughter's May wedding. ❤️

From the bridal shower to the wedding day, the creative juices were flowing. Charcuterie boards, fresh fruit, homemade desserts, bouquets, boutonnieres, and the wedding cake, simple and rustic, all came together to celebrate Genna & Trey.

One of my favorite parts was creating the flowers. The boutonnieres were made with shell casings as their base, and her leather-wrapped bridal bouquet held her something old, new, borrowed, and blue—each chosen to honor her Grandma. She also wore the First Communion veil her Grandma had tatted years ago.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped with the table arrangements, food, decorating, errands, cleanup, and all the last-minute fixes that come with every wedding. It truly took a village.

The perfect ending to a beautiful ceremony was watching the newlyweds take a drive in the 1954 Chevy Bel Air her Grandpa restored. Although her Grandma and Grandpa couldn't be there in person, they were woven into the celebration from beginning to end.

Creating desserts for weddings is always special, but getting to help bring each of my children's wedding visions to life has been extra special. 👰‍♀️💒🤵

Some themes are just too cute to use only once! The gender reveal theme was "Burnouts🏎 or Bows🎀?".

So it only made sense to keep the racing theme going for Delilah's "Fast One" first birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday, Delilah!! You can slow down anytime now... your parents would probably appreciate it! 🩷🏁

Baby Shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo... 🦈🎂 This cake was for a granddaughter's 2nd birthday.

She didn't wait around for someone to cut the cake—she just dove right in for a bite. 😆

Can you imagine working for the same place for 100 years? 😆 Okay, maybe it wasn't quite 100, but it was a really, really long time!

His wife ordered these cookies for his Frito-Lay retirement party, and they were a lot of fun to make. Although, I have to admit, drawing a tiny little Chester Cheetah on a cookie was definitely a challenge! 😂

Congratulations on your retirement! After all those years of hard work, it's time for more fun, more family, and plenty of time for chillin' like Chester Cheetah. 😎🧡

When the man, the myth, the legend spends his days writing technical manuals for trailers, you have to get a little creative with the cookie designs. 😆

My first thought was the classic "For Dummies" books, and from there it expanded into several manual titles. But if all goes wrong there's the simple to life's problems... "Should've Asked Kenneth!" 😂

Happy 56th Birthday, Kenneth! I hope your day was filled with laughter and people finally reading the manual so you didn't have to tell them, "I told you so." 📚🎂

The news said 80 mph winds were headed our way, so we ran outside to take down the flag before it ended up in the next county. 😅

Then we got distracted watching the clouds and the little swirl they were trying to do. 🌪️

Meanwhile my baker brain was over there like: “Lord… not my house. I have cakes in the oven.” 😂🎂

I hope everyone is safe and making it through this crazy weather night.

Life is sweeter down the old dirt road… where cows roam and the dirt is full of worms.

This birthday girl wanted a highland cow cake for her family celebration and 50 dirt & worm cups to share with her classmates and friends. Fun, laughter, and a bit of dirt sounds like a good day. Happy Birthday. 🐮🪱
