As promised, an update ☺️
It seems a little crazy that it’s been 2 1/2 months since we closed our doors. It’s been both a lot of time and not nearly enough time to find a new groove and start to rebuild a life I can be content in. Some of the things that I’ve done:
I traveled, rested, and spent time in nature and in prayer.
I took up a new hobby that’s been on my bucket list for awhile. I don’t expect to ever be an accomplished artist or anything, but I find it soothing and enjoyable.
Our family celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents.
I baked and cooked (or didn’t) according to what I wanted to do. No pressure.
I celebrated the holiday season in every little way I could grasp- Hallmark movies galore!
I started not one, but TWO new jobs and laid out a plan for paying off all that I owe AND taking some time to travel and have adventures and just grabbing joy wherever I can.
So, what now? I work like crazy, play like I mean it, and just try really hard to be at peace and okay.
With a 60 hour work week, there won’t be room for much else, so I won’t be pursuing any cooking opportunities right now. I’m still not ready to completely shut that door, so this page will remain and I will share my personal meal preps, farm friends posts, food thoughts, and maybe some recipes. In time, maybe I’ll be able to resume private chef and cottage food offerings. The business phone will be shut down as will the website. The business will remain registered with the state, but inactive for now. Maybe the way forward will become clearer with more time and space.
I can never say enough how much this community means to me and how grateful I am for the support and love. I’ve had the full run of emotions, from sadness to anger, but I can say with confidence, it was absolutely worth it.
