💔 There are some posts you never imagine having to write.
Our hearts are absolutely broken over the loss of one of Scoop’d’s biggest supporters, Emily Perry.
Emily wasn’t just a customer. She was one of our regulars—the kind of person who becomes part of the Scoop’d family without you even realizing when it happened. She would stop in with her boys on the way to school, or come through on the weekends when they were passing by. Seeing Emily and her boys walk through our doors was just part of Scoop’d.
We say all the time that our customers mean the world to us, and they truly do. But losing one like this hits incredibly hard.
And for our family, Emily was so much more than a familiar face at the coffee shop.
She was a huge part of my son Colten’s high school years. Truthfully, she was one of the main reasons he liked school at all—even if it was only a little. ❤️
Emily had a gift for reaching the kids who didn’t necessarily love sitting in a classroom. She understood them. She gave them something to look forward to and made them feel like they had a place. And while she was their teacher, what she gave them went far beyond anything that could ever be taught from a textbook.
She taught them about life. She believed in them. She made an impact on kids like Colten in ways she probably never fully realized.
There simply aren’t words big enough for the loss of such an incredible teacher, mother, customer, supporter, and human being.
Our hearts are with Emily’s boys, her husband Cory, her family, her students, her coworkers, and every single person lucky enough to have known and loved her.
Scoop’d won’t feel quite the same knowing we won’t see her walk through those doors again.
Rest easy, Emily. 🤍
Thank you for supporting our little business.
Thank you for loving our community.
And from this mom especially—thank you for being there for my son when he needed someone like you.
You will be missed more than words could ever say.
