Once your kids grow up and leave home to build lives of their own, you begin to treasure 48-hour stretches like the one we shared this weekend.

I am deeply grateful that we were all together and that we got to do it together. We came side by side, loading up a truck, picking out groceries, and piecing together furniture late into the day, to make sure Nico was settled, supported, and ready for Monday morning—his very first official day of medical school.
