We pulled into Jodi's driveway and the 'Goddamn Boys on Bikes' appeared to have left their's by the front door. Dinner and book discussions were outside in front of her fire pit at a beautiful orange-inspired tablescape. Some other items lying around her entertainment area were Benadryl (pink tic tacs), candy bars, gin, and a hanger to unlock a car door.

Jodi facilitated discussions about the crosscut lives of two families that span 5 decades and unravel the tragic affects of families broken by divorce.

Judi outdid herself as she facilitated discussions about the life of an American man living in Paris and his feelings and frustrations with his relationships with other men in his life, particularly an Italian bartender named Giovanni whom he meets at a Parisian gay bar.

Discussions on how your life can pivot on a moments notice, racial injustices that wreck families, the effectiveness of letter writing, and if you’d wait 15 years for someone - all while being comforted by soul food and longtime friendships.

Great discussions during our Seattle-inspired dinner with quotes written on World Fair tickets. The buffet had cherry blossoms, Seattle city-scape, fortune cookies, candy apples, and never-ending champagne. The night ended with dessert by a fire off the water. What a creative hostess, Mary Kathryne Olmsted Cooper!
